OK, that is technically a fib. I wish I was jet-setting to the land down under, but I’ll settle for a feature in Australia’s Sunday Life magazine.

Tears fell from my eyes as I made the final edits to the Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s manuscript. During the past 16 months of this project, I pushed myself to physical and emotional limits. I suffered anxiety, battled a few months of insomnia, began yoga and took up running (OK, speed walking my dogs 2.5 miles a day is pretty close to running!) to beat the anxiety and formed a new inner circle of confidents with AMAZING women across the world who are part of this project thanks to our private Facebook group and public fan page.

It seems like only yesterday that I was sitting in my backyard scribbling ideas for this endeavor in my pink notebook. This is just the beginning of a worldwide celebratory divorce movement and I thank you all for lending your stories. I am honored to be in the company of such strong, successful, independent and inspiring forces.

Oh, what a night! The second official Trash The Dress NJ/ NY meet-up was truly a bonding experience. Not only did I get to meet new local members, but I got to meet a divorcee from the UK as she backpacked her way through New York City. I learned no matter what country you’re from, if you have the right group of girlfriends around, you’ll find reasons to laugh about post-divorce dating life and be grateful for your divorce.

I’ll be planning another meet-up before the holidays. If you’re traveling to the NYC/ NJ area, be sure to let me know so I can plan a shindig.

And of course, I encourage you all to start your own Trash The Dress “chapters” and host ladies nights in your hometown!
