Divorcées Do Lunch

Today I had the pleasure of meeting some of the participants in this book! It was so great to connect in person. Ironically, our lunch took place next in the same room as a bridal shower! Those guests seemed pretty bored. Bridal showers are the kind of event everyone dreads attending except for the bride, obviously. How many times have you made a toilet paper dress and cheated at bridal bingo?

There were five of us at lunch today, all in different phases of divorce in our 20s. Some of us have been divorced for a few years, others are just going through the process. The majority of us have never met other young divorced women, so it was really cool. For once our social status put us in the majority! I posted some photos in our Trash the Dress Facebook group. I love the FB group, by the way. It’s like we all have over a hundred new friends! Be sure to join if you haven’t. There are lots of other meet-ups and divorce parties being planned all across America. We’ll create our own showers of happiness!
